About the Book
Moon Spotlight Oregon Coast Camping, Hiking & Fishing is a 155-page compact guide covering the region’s best camping, hiking, and fishing spots—including Fort Stevens State Park, Oaks Bottom, and the Columbia River Gorge— perfect for campers, hikers, and fishers looking for a fulfilling, back-country experience. Each listing has at-a-glance icons that indicate nearby hiking or biking trails, swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, and hot springs. Outdoors writers Sean Patrick Hill, Craig Schuhmann, and Tom Stienstra provide easy-to-follow maps and clear driving directions that lead campers and hikers to the best of coastal Oregon's wilderness.
About Sean Patrick Hill
For as long as Sean Patrick Hill can remember, he has been traveling. Among those first memories are the car trips his father would take the family on. Yet once he was in college and free to travel wherever he pleased, Sean continuted to explore the great cities of the east. He became interested in the outdoors and soon found himself paddling the Chemung River, climbing through the Black Forest of Pennsylvania, and hiking the glaciated gorges of New York.
When Sean moved to Oregon at the age of 24, he believed he had found paradise. He settled in Eugene and began to explore the Pacific Coast, the Willamette Valley, and the Cascade Mountains. He soon began writing the outdoor column "Open Air" for The Source Weekly, avidly mapping and hiking the Central Oregon Cascades, Steens Mountain, the Blue Mountain Range, and the Siskiyou Mountains. He moved to Portland to earn his master's degree, and found a whole new array of territory to explore. It is this enthusiasm that Sean brings to his travel writing.
Sean currently works as a freelance writer for publications such as The Oregonian, Travel Oregon, and Washington Trails.
